What We Covered In The Interview

Here’s a quick update on what we’ve achieved in 2025, and what’s coming next:

  1. We've got our Pelican Waters fishing boat all set and ready, and we're now doing weekly trips from Pelican Waters Marina.

  2. We recently sold our bigger boat and are replacing it with a specially designed, wheelchair-friendly one to be more inclusive. It's expected to arrive in the next 6–8 weeks, and we're working on getting a good tow vehicle so we can visit more places along the Queensland coast.

  3. Another big step for us is opening our "Mate-Shed" - a spot where we fix up boats and support our friends. We get donated boats, our volunteers help refurbish them, and we sell them to fund our free programs. The shed will also have practical learning and drop-in sessions like basic engine servicing, upholstery, fishing reel repairs, and general boat maintenance. Plus, it's a friendly place to stop by for a coffee and a chat.

  4. We've kept building strong ties with support groups like local RSL Sub-Branches, Buddy Up Australia, Mates4Mates, and more.

  5. We also put together a two-day immersive wellness retreat for 26 members, backed by three experienced practitioners, and throughout 2025 we hosted over 50 official events, along with many casual meet-ups.
